Required Materials to be brought to class every day: Pencils or pens and extra lined paper. *Your notebooks will be staying in the classroom or if you take them home you need to bring them back daily or take notes separately and add them to the appropriate pages of your notebook. Notebooks will be checked regularly and notice will be given on classroom page slides for Homework/Reminders.
Homework: will be assigned every week; it may be reading assignments, assignments started in class, practice assignments, or lab work followup to be answered at home.
Progress Reports: I think it is very important for your parents to be aware of how you are progressing in the class, so it is important that they be able to access Synergy to see your grades as they are input and updated.
Lab Activities: Labs must be completed in class. If you are absent the day of a lab, you must make arrangements to come in after school to make it up or collaborate with teammates/tablemates to complete when materials are limited or consumed.
Late Work: Late work turned in will be accepted with a late penalty. Late work turned in past a deadline will not be accepted for grading. *Students who are absent have one day for every day absence to turn in the work without a late penalty.
This YEAR 7th grade will be covering: MATTER REACTIONS MATTER IN CYCLES AND ENERGY FLOW ENERGY FLOW IN SYSTEMS ECOSYSTEMS, INTERACTIONS AND BIOSPHERE SYSTEM INTERACTIONS AND RECONSTRUCTIONS NATURAL RESOURCES AND GEOLOGIC PROCESSES
The Grading will be: 30% Labs/Reports/Projects 30% Tests and Quizzes 40% Homework and Classwork Assignments(Notebook)
*All graded assignments and your science notebook will be kept. This is your proof that you did the assignment if there is ever a question about your grade. Do not throw out work.
Tutoring: I will be available most days M,T,Th,F with a 24hr notice after school for approx. one half hour.
Remember the three class norms. Stay Quiet, Stay Seated, and Stay Working!
CLASSROOM RULES: Respect yourselves and others….. ● Be nice. Be polite to me as I teach and allow your fellow classmates to learn. Respect the room and everything/everyone in it. This includes: a. following directions; b. being in your assigned seat at all times; c. bringing no food or drinks (except water) in the room; d. staying out of cabinets, drawers, my desk/area e. utilizing the water fountain and restrooms between classes whenever possible. f. following all school rules found in the student handbook.
